Having worked in various jobs for almost two decades, I felt it was time to do something different. For a couple of years now, the idea of volunteering for an NGO for a while had been appealing to me. My occupations and responsibilities did not allow for that before, but now, in a sabbatical, I felt the time had come.
Projects Abroad (PA) was very friendly and gave information promptly: “You want to teach for just one month? Well, your impact will be limited, of course, but yes, we can do that. We will be happy to have you aboard”. So, I enrolled as a teacher in a primary school in Winneba/Ghana.
